Watching Mountains Move
The power of mustard seed sized faith.
Mountain Moving Faith
Matthew 17:20 (NLT): "I tell you the truth, if you have faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible."
In the Bible, it talks about having faith the size of a mustard seed. In this newsletter, we’re going to explore what it actually means to have faith the size of a mustard seed, and what it can do. Now, let’s begin by looking at this powerful verse!
The Power of Faith: Through faith we can say to this mountain to move from here to there, and it will move!! This illustrates the immense power of even the smallest amount of true faith.
There is Nothing God Cannot Do: It does no matter what it looks like or what it sounds like! It doesn't matter what you think, nothing is impossible with God!!!
No Matter the Circumstances: No matter how dire your circumstances may seem, remember that God is always with you. When Peter walked on water amidst a storm, Jesus didn’t tell him to stop; instead, He helped Peter when his faith wavered and encouraged him to have more faith.
Examining Your Faith
I encourage you to take some time and truly examine yourself! Spend some one-on-one time with the Lord and see what happens! Share with a friend or fellow believer and see what happens!
How strong is your faith right now: Honestly assess your current faith. Are you feeling steadfast or experiencing doubts? Identify areas of strength and those needing growth.
How close do you feel to Jesus today: If you were standing before Jesus, would you feel confident in your relationship? Reflect on your daily walk with Christ and think about how you can deepen this connection.
Where do you want your faith to be: Is your faith where you desire it to be? Reflect on your spiritual goals and consider steps you can take to grow, such as more prayer, Bible study, or fellowship.
Finding ways to Build Your Faith
Hebrews 10:24-25: Engage actively with your church community. Join small groups, Bible studies, and spend quality time with fellow believers to support and uplift each other on your faith journey.
2 Timothy 3:16-17: Delve deeply into God's Word. Let Scripture guide you, and spend time in prayer to understand His will for your life. The Bible is a powerful tool for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.
Galatians 5:13: Embrace the call to serve others with humility and love. Serving those in need not only reflects Jesus' example but also strengthens your own faith as you live out the gospel.
Romans 8:14: Work with the Holy Spirit. Allow the Spirit to guide you in your daily life and decisions. Seek His counsel through prayer and be receptive to His leading. He empowers and equips you to live a life that honors God.
Time to Pray
So, now that you know what God is capable of, or maybe you already knew. Either way, it’s time to look at your circumstances through God’s eyes. No fear, no worry, like Peter on the waves, it’s time to meet Jesus on the waves.
Father, I praise you and thank you for the chance to write to this person. Thank you for this person and that you are moving in their lives. I ask that you would guide and lead them, in this prayer and further, whatever that looks like, thank you for helping them, even myself, to meet you on the waves in Jesus mighty name, AMEN!!!
