Coming to The Father With Childlike Faith

The Importance and meaning of Childlike Faith

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to come to Jesus like a child? Or why the bible says it’s important? If so, look no further! This newsletter is going to explain and delve deeper into the scriptures, not only to explain but to help those of you who want to be like a child before our God!

The meaning behind Child-like Faith

The Bible tells us the importance of child-like faith, (Matthew 18:3) unless we change and come before Jesus like little children, we will not see the Kingdom of Heaven. The whole point of this is coming before Him honestly and letting Him mold us, deepening our relationship with Him. If we are not open to correction, we cannot become who He wants us to be.

As a child, we have an innate sense of wonder, finding joy and awe in the simplest of things. As adults, we can rekindle that wonder by:

  • Taking time to appreciate God's creation, from a beautiful sunset to a tiny flower.

  • Approaching scripture with fresh eyes, allowing ourselves to be amazed by God's love and grace.

  • Seeing every day as an opportunity for new discoveries and blessings.

Trusting in God's Love, Children trust their parents unconditionally. Similarly, a child-like faith means trusting in God's love and care for us, even when we don't understand His plans.

Trusting in God’s love

Coming before Him in times of need, or even just because, is the start of a great relationship. Imagine, if you parent is or was, or even would like to be, your best friend. Wouldn’t you want to tell them everything? He loves us so much, He wants to hear everything on our hearts, so He can help us through life.

  • Matthew 7:11: Remember that God is a loving Father who wants the best for His children.

  • Romans 8:28: Trust that God is working all things together for your good.

  • Matthew 7:7-8: Pray with confidence, knowing that God hears and cares about your needs.

Reflecting Your Child-like Faith

Being a child before God, is a blessing. This is where we get to truly come before Him, without fear, without worry, just lay it all down and just let it out. Does a child think before he/she speaks or laughs? NO! This is true freedom, reflecting the purity and sincerity of a child’s heart.

Ephesians 4:32 NLT: Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

  • Approach God with honesty and openness, sharing your joys, fears, and struggles.

  •  Offer forgiveness readily, just as children forgive easily.

  • Serve others with a humble and willing heart, as children eagerly help those they love.
